Do you also have white outdoor lighting?

Yes. Our outdoor lighting is standard equipped with both color light and white light. For white light, you can choose warm white light, cold white light or a white shade in between. This is easy to set up and manage in the Davylux app.

Is your lighting weatherproof?

All our lights are specially and exclusively designed for outdoor use. All lights have a minimum IP class of IP55. Depending on the model, the IP class can be even higher. The IP class of each model is stated on the product page on our website.

IP55: Lights are dust-resistant and spray-tight.
IP65: Lights are dustproof and spray-tight.
IP66: Lights are dustproof and water resistant.
IP67: Lights are dustproof and immersion-tight.
IP68: Lights are dustproof and waterproof.

Why do I need a PSU?

The PSU (Power Supply Unit) ensures that the 230 volts that come from the socket are converted into 24 volts on which the Davylux system operates.

Can I place the PSU outside?

Yes. The PSU is weatherproof and has an IP67 class and can therefore be placed outside.

We do recommend placing it at least 10 cm above the ground to prevent it from being submerged for a long time.

How do I determine which PSU I need?

This is determined by the total wattage of the lights you want to connect to a PSU. The total wattage can be determined by adding up the wattage of all lights. Depending on this total, you can choose the PSU 96W or the PSU 150W. We advise to load the PSU to a maximum of 80%. It is also possible to work with multiple PSUs on one system.

Is it necessary to bury the cable?

No. The Davylux system works with a voltage of 24 volts, which is considered low voltage. Cables with low voltage on them do not have to be buried. We do advise, however, to lay the cable deeper in places where digging is done regularly, so that it is not accidentally damaged during gardening.

What is the maximum number of lights that can be connected to a cable?

The maximum number of lights on a piece of cable is not determined by the cable but by the PSU. The maximum permitted wattage of the PSU is leading for the number of lights that may be connected to it.

Why do I need a SmartGate?

The SmartGate is the bridge between your outdoor lighting and the Davylux app. Because the SmartGate is connected to your internet connection, it can receive commands from your Davylux app and convert them into a signal to the lights. This also makes it possible to control your outdoor lighting outdoors. The SmartGate is therefore essential for operating your outdoor lighting.

Can I also add lights without connecting to the SmartGate?

It is possible to add lights without connecting to the SmartGate. This means that the lights cannot be operated and therefore the color and light intensity cannot be adjusted. After connection, the lights will first flash for a while (connection mode) and will switch to bright cold white light after a few minutes.

Our advice is to always connect the lights to the SmartGate to enjoy the full functionality of the Davylux system.

How do I know if a light is in connection mode?

A light in connection mode smoothly flashes from bright to less bright cold white light. If a light is not connected to the SmartGate, it will automatically stop flashing after a few minutes and remain lit. To get the light back into connection mode, it must be disconnected from the PSU and then reconnected.

If a light has already been connected to a SmartGate and you want to get it into connection mode, the light must be reset. This is possible by plugging and unplugging the light with the PSU five times in quick succession. Please note that the light is reset and is therefore no longer connected to a SmartGate and can therefore no longer be operated as long as it is not reconnected.

Why do I have to download the Davylux app?

The Davylux app is required to add and operate the outdoor lighting. This allows the color and light intensity to be set. Smart automations can also be programmed and lights can be grouped.

The Davylux app is available in both the App Store and the Google Play Store. The app can be found in both stores under the name "Davylux". You will also find a link at the bottom of our website to download the app.

Can I switch my Davylux outdoor lighting on or off automatically at a fixed time?

Yes. In the Davylux app, you can use the automations to set a time at which you switch outdoor lighting on or off. This can be done for a garden section as well as for an individual light.

Can I switch on my Davylux outdoor lighting automatically at sunset?

Yes. In the Davylux app, you can use the automations to set your outdoor lighting to switch on automatically. An offset can also be specified here. The same also applies the other way around so that your Davylux lights switch off automatically at sunrise. This can be done for a garden section as well as for an individual light.
